Exams, So Close to Being Over

I know I haven't posted in a million years, but now that exams are nearly over I can spark up some of that ole blogging stuff I used to do a few generations back.

So this break this down. I've been doing my final exams to my final year of high school. None the less I'm slightly stressing about getting into uni. I know for a fact I'm smart enough and have the conviction to do an engineering degree with honours at the most reputable university in NZ. The problem is, I was stupid enough to take a subject I thought I wanted at the start of the year, but have no interest in now. In a nutshell you study shakespeare and films and write essays about them and I'm very strongly mathematically based. So I didn't end up getting many points in that subject.

That left me with my uni entry only relying on four subjects when you can take 5 in. To make a long story short, I can get in with 4 subjects because you only need 80 points and each course gives over 20 the worrying part is that due to NZ NCEA cirriculum each point is ranked and currently I'm not feeling awesome about a couple of my final exams I've just taken. Bio felt off, Chem was ish, calc was sweet though and that leaves physics tommorrow.

What can I say, wish me luck.

Nuclear Wake Up!

Well here we are on another NZ Saturday actually coming through with my minimal post-a-week to keep this blog alive. I've just woken up and with the events that just happened to me it seems appropriate that I write something about it because people. I just survived a nuclear attack.

I was sleeping cozily in my blanket and sheets just chilling out on a Saturday morning. I was warm, nothing could disturb the heavenly sleep I was in. I was wrong. To this day I believe that NZ is a pretty nuclear free country. We don't have nuclear power, we don't even let nuclear ships enter our waters I believe all in the pursuit to keep our green image. But what's that to stop someone dropping nukes all over the major cities of New Zealand in hate for us as we're the panzy asses who consider ourselves "green."

Well somehow my mind figmented this all in a fraction of a second. BOOM! A crashing sound knocks me out of my sleep. The curtains fly open and an orange light peels into my room. Whats just happened? I jump out of my bed, wobble upstairs (I just woke up remember) and see dad sitting there to say
"what's up"
"what the f**k was that"
"what was what?" Upon looking out our window onto the street a noob trying to load a container onto his truck had dropped, the curtains had coincidently flew open and the sun happened to be right in the sky where my mind had placed the nuclear mushroom cloud to be. So feeling like an idiot I came downstairs to do my Saturday post.

Well I'm glad it wasn't a real nuke dropped on green ole NZ and that I'm still alive but hey I got a post from it :D

Obsessed With Beyonce Knowles

So here I am again an amazing one day after I said I was going to post more, so who's surprised? I know I am! Onto the post!

So I saw a movie last night called Obsessed, it was about a guy who had a girl serially in love with him and upon avoiding to tell his wife about this (Beyonce) things start to go wrong as she stalks him, drugs him and proceedes to violate him. I choose to blog about this movie today as it really was special... And by special I mean things happened in it that were just hilarious.

First up that made me laugh was when Derreck (Beyonces husband) was sitting at his computer when he decides to send his stalker an email saying (LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!) the email was instantly replied to with a big cartoon face... That then after some time winked at him! The look on Derrecks face from there was a mix of "I've just seen a picture of a decaptitaed bunny" and "MY LIFE IS OVER." It was just surprising that instead of telling someone he just told her to get lost and look astonished at stupid emails.

The second that was more my cup of tea was the woman fight at the end. The crazy stalker lady (who don't get me wrong is amazingly hot and has a macn body to top it off) has just shown up inside Beyonce's half naked and Beyonce finds her so they start fighting it out, Beyonce hookn white stalker bitch and the white bitch kickn Beyonce with her long white legs (this could easily turn into another sorta movie with a bit of adjustment) the scene was just great with all the fighting and lingerie.

So overall the movie was kinda average but there were a couple of scenes that made it pleasant to watch :)

Ball Night Debauchery

Twas the night of the ball and all through the room
everyone was dressed handsomely,
standards of brides and grooms.
How the ball was fun everyone sat and waited
for the after ball after party,
we could not be more elated.

The ball ended as the clock struck 12
we all left the room and into the night
the teens started to delve.
stockn the pockets with beer, liqueur and wine
undressed from our suits
yet we still looked so fine

and to the venue we drove up to
hopped out of the car
and the drinks we consumed!
we drank and we drunk and we broke all things fragile
until a lot of people could no longer walk
or had limbs that were prehensile.

the after ball that was propheted so bad
had no permanent damage
except for the house to be had
so when you send your teen to a party oh so scary
just don't have it your house
teens will break stuff, be weary.

So this was my story of the afterball. SUES style!

Post-a-week!

Well I've been slack with this blog, I haven't been here for ages and now I think it's time I get back into it. I am now making it my Saturday goal to get a blog post out, if I haven't done one throughout the week then expect one on a NZ Saturday. So where have I been? Well the same place I've always been doing something else, I guess amongst the work I've been doing when I get a moment of spare time I spend it doing something else. Sure not the best way to gain a committed viewer base but I'm not all too fussed about what people think. As long as they're coming. SO! where do we begin! Again...

Source Code Review

Hey all I don't review movies often but I'm here today to review Source Code for your viewing pleasure. May I say now that this is actually more of a rant and contains spoilers. Many a spoilers

Ok so we start off the movie we're nice and slow, we're given hints of how mr Jake Gyllenhaal has been put onto this train and then bang the train blows up. He soon finds out he is being used to go back in time into another persons mind to try and stop further terrorist attacks like the train bombing.

We are then told it is not actual time he is going back in it is just a Quantum physics phenomenon mixed with parabolic calculus or some mumbo jumbo but is explained like this.
"Do you know the glow of the lightbulb after it has been turned out? Well a human mind resembles that, after the persons physical body has passed away the electromagnetic frequencies or the brain still resonate, we are using your mind to connect with that of the dead mans and recapture his last 8 minutes before he dies."

A bit of paraphrasing but you get the point. In the end he saves the day and stops the dirty bomb from exploding. This is where it gets interesting. It says in that explanation above that they aren't sending him back in time, only creating a fictional world for him to save the day. However he some how manages to save the train from exploding, the dirty bomb from going off and continue to live life as this man his minds been implanted into. Oh yea he's dead btw (well fataly wounded, his brain is hooked up to a crazy machine) so he's not coming back after he saves the day. Well atleast he was suppose to.

This is where the movie starts to bug me. Upon his last 8 minutes on the train he manages to send a text back to another character, find closure with his dad, stop the terror attacks and live happily ever after never coming out of his fictional world that has been created. So may I ask a few questions to the writers.

How can he possibly be in the mans mind if he had never died and the connection between their two minds was never made?
How did he turn back time and change the future if it was impossible for source code to do that?
Where has the mans mind he is now taken over gone as he never actually died?
What happens when they use him again to save the world, will he come out of his dream or what ever the hell it is?

Well that's my opinion, I didn't think it was a bad movie it was quite gripping actually it just had a few flaws that really got me wondering.

New Stuff

Where have I been? Well I've just finished my first term back at school and since I've been back this has sort of taken a back seat to my learning. I'm going for a selective course at university at the end of the year so my main focus really is just education and time management. O well I aint too popular so good chance is I haven't been missed. I have come back in recent times to announce the start of my new blog! As I am well into my sports I thought I'd start a sort of health blog. Target a niche for once and post workout tips and things that I learn here and there from all the training I do so that's up and the link will be at the end of the post. I hope I can get back to around here just because I know this blog isn't dead and does have potential for the future. Until I come up with something better.

Summer And A Half: New Years

As I said in my previous post, a lot has happened this summer (NZ) a bit too much to fit into one post so I said I'd spread it out over a few posts. So part one of my summer and a half is here with my holiday over new years.

I wish I could find the pictures and videos that were taken over the new year holiday but until someone gets a copy from my brother over in aussie (his fiance took all the photos) I won't be able to upload any. :( I hope that I'll get them soon so people seeing this later will be able to see them and share in their awesomeness.

So into the pictureless run down. We drove up north to a camp site about an hour north of Whangarei on the 29th. The weather was horrible and we were lucky for a patch of dryness to pitch our tent (hehe). So from the 29th to the morning of new years eve (yay my birthday). After about 10am it stopped raining and decided to belt down with sunshine, so much me and all my mates got burnt it was typical New Zealand wheather, pissing down one moment then scorching you the next. Adding to the burn my sister in law didn't pick us up from the beach on her way through because her and my other brother's girlfriend (affore mentioned brother's fiance, he proposed to her just after the new year period) had put up a big banner saying happy birthday, got me a crown and lay, leigh, ley??? the hawaiin flowery thing you put around your neck which I had to wear all night and a whole bunch of balloons containing little notes with dares I had to do on them for my 17th birthday.

Ok so heres how the balloons work. When someone popped one I would have the choice to do the dare or have a piece of clothing removed chosen by the balloon popper and then the balloon popper ould get a flick to flick me in the crotch, I wasn't allowed to replace the clothing either. So some big stakes up for a simple dare, what I thought was going to be some simple dares. Take in mind I did them all :). There were over like 15 dares so I can't remember them all, I've just put in the ones I can remember.

Dare 1: Serinade a girl
- I play guitar so I just played a jazz version of I'll take you to the candy shop that I made up, I sung it to my friends mum and she knew what was going on so she was cool with it

Dare 2: Snort a line of raro
- raro is like a drink mix you mix with water, it was terrible I could smell pineapple for ages

Dare 3: Kiss a girl
- like 8 stepped forward, no I'm kidding. I'll leave this with you though. I got it done :)

Dare 4: Do a tequila stuntman
- this thing has to be a concoction of the freakn devil. I had to snort the salt (watsup with them and making me snort things right?) squirt lemon in my eye then do the tequila shot. I'm really guttered I don't have the video of me doing this because I do have it and its really funny watchn me do it.

Dare 5: Everytime someone says happy new year scream at the top of your voice 'cockadoodledoo'
- this one was mroe annoying than anything, after a while people caught on and just played me like a puppet, it was funny though I was walking past someone I had no affiliation with and just said happy new year to them, they then replied. cockadoodledoo. It was funny :D

Dare 6: do a streak down the beach after midnight.
- yup this one did happen, I ran don the beach after midnight naked, because I didn't trust any of my mates with my clothes I ran with them under my arm, I actually lost my underwear along the way but because my brothers were shooting fireworks at me (thanks guys) and you know the whole being naked thing I didn't stop to get them. All in good fun though. I did however find them 2 days later totally buried under sand, gave em a wash and they were all good. :)

So that was my new years, we stayed up a few days more with great weather and then came happy after a good lil holiday.

so that was the first and probably most exciting installment to my summer and a half, the others will be more updates and opefully not as long, this one definitely had some length haha.

Summer And A Half

Its winding down to the end of summer (in NZ) with only about a month left before it starts to head off into winter again and this has been a summer I will always remember. If you've been reading this blog (if anyone has been reading this blog) you may be wondering where I've been, well this post will pretty much sum it up for you.

First up there was my Dad who had an accident in early December, he's still live and kicking but it did ruin his holiday and leave the family a bit frayed for awhile, elaborated version

I also went away up north for a lil holiday which I hope I can elaborate on in a further post as it deserves one, I went away with my brothers and since my birthday is on New Years eve they threw together a whole set of dares I had to do for my 17th birthday, it made for a real fun night and end to the year, while we're at it, happy new year everyone.

I've also had my wisdom teeth out two days ago so now I look like an overgrown hamster as I've not been able to groom to my face and my cheeks are all swollen from the procedure, it can only get better from here. I hope.

So summer down under in NZ has been pretty memorable with everything that's happened and I know I will never forget this one especially as I'm going into my 7th form year at school, lucky last before I go off to university.

So all the best wishes for everyone and their new year, I hope to get back posting regularly soon but things are hectic around here and I'm really lazy too so see everyone soon hopefully!

Myspace Face

Myspace Face

It is a well documented about fact that when someone is uploading a photo of themselves to Myspace (most typically girls) a phenomenon occurs where they decide to push their lips out and to the side to make them look like hard out douche bags.

Here we have a mild case, the lips aren't pushed to the side like other cases however these duck lips as more commonly known around the internet are probably a result of social networking

A truly horrid specimen here with three people degrading themselves and the human race with a triple Myspace face.

It is true I like to mock these self esteem craving twigs by pulling the Myspace face in many of my photos. However I do not upload any of these photos to Facebook, Myspace or any other social networking site because it obviously looks hideous, well not too obviously because we still see thousands of photos of chicks pulling this horrendous face.

Now as I said in my last post, I would show you my new haircut and talk about the said "Myspace face." I have done one so far now get ready for the double wammy!

Exams Are Over!

HEY PEOPLE!

I'm back after a big break, and it's actually quite a sad note. I am on holidays now and my exams have finished yet yesterday my dad was painting my brothers house when the trestle they were standing on broke. He fell and has broken his ankle severely and his back as well. He has a fractured spine yet the spinal nerve wasn't damaged and he can move his toes arms and they think he'll be walking with a back brace in a little while. He's in hospital and my family has been in a distressed state lately running around like headless chickens.

So what I'd like to say is stay safe this summer/winter guys (Summer in NZ) because accidents like this can easily happen my brother feels really guilty as it was his trestle and he chose to paint the house himself instead of hiring people. However no one blames my brother and we all agree it was just an accident, but if I was in my brothers position It would be hard not to feel guilty. All I can say is get well soon dad and Ben don't feel hard on yourself, Dad will be alright.

On another note, my t-shirt Idea didn't go ahead because one of the image designers never came back to me so I decided to scrap it. However I have opened a zazzle store and I'm just experimenting with things, drawings, photos yadeyayaya so something may come about from it, if I get time.

Drivers Licence Test

Ok so I've been a tad absent since I got this but yay I passed my driving test! I've just had the long weekend so I've been busy at the beach and stuff like that so I've got a couple of photos for you guys!

So we went to the beach to walk around the sand dunes and give my brother (Ben) and his wife's dog a walk around the beach/river/lake that was around there.

So that was our little day at the sand dunes of the beach, I hope you liked the photos and I hope to get a few more out every now and again. I've actually got a couple more photos to show you that I've just taken during the week. Enjoy!

I was playing around with the settings on my camera to try get a nice clear photo, I finally got a semi decent on of these two daisies.

This is of a mint plant I took a photo of, I changed it to black and white but partially left the colour in the flower that was growing on it.

Taking all these photos really made me wish I had a good DSLR camera but hey I'll be happy with the digital camera I have at the moment.

So those are my photos that I've been taking recently, again I hope you've enjoyed.

As for other news, the guy who came back with a reply for the Gin & Conic shirt idea, hasn't further replied. So now I'm in the process of finding a new one because he wussed out and wouldn't reply. I might end up making my own but in the mean time while I'm still busy with exams, It's going to have to wait.

Angry Birds, iPhones Are Addictive

I've recently been sifting through my friends iPhone to find many addicting games. One I've recently found to be quite addicting is the angry birds application. I myself don't own any form of angry bird playing medium so it's probably why I find these little apps to be so addicting and fun.

So Angry Birds made me wonder about the actual playability of these iPhone and other iPod touch games compared to other medium. I guess this can vaguely be related to my other technological posts and my view on them. iPad, Seigway. Go read them and see what you think of the up and coming fad that is the iPad and the futuristic form of transport... The Seigway.

So back to Angry Birds, among other apps I found this one along with doodle jumper to be quite amusing but I couldn't see myself playing these little games for hours on end. It does seem like Apple is winning in the long run charging what seems like a mere amount of a dollar relative to the time you may or may not spend on these little applications. I can imagine the creators of these games rolling around in their pool of dollar coins laughing as we sit squinty eyed trying to focus on a tiny screen, what a sucker we say... It only cost me a buck. However buck upon buck we see us buying more and more applications, more little games just like Angry birds but hey for a buck I would feel happy with even the little enjoyment I got out of a borrowed turn on a friends iPhone. I guess that's why no one goes to arcades anymore.

So at the end of the day, looking back at the cost of the apps to the relative enjoyment I got out of them, I would definitely consider getting an iSomething. A dollar aint too bad and some games I could imagine being played for hours. So if you aren't too stingy, a good few bucks could turn into a good few hours of fun on a device that can play music, movies and photos. Sounds pretty good at the moment.

May Have A Shirt Design

May Have A Shirt Design

Hey there people

I'm pretty excited as I've designed a shirt graphic made from pictures from flickr. I've run into a bit of a hitch but am hoping it works itself out. Ya see I was looking in the section of photos with a creative commons licence that allow adaptation and allow the graphic to be used commercially, I found some sweet images and put them together into a cool image that goes with a running joke me and my friend Matt have. The problem is, after I'd done all the photoshopping and cutting and stuff I looked back to see that on neither of the photos had I clicked *allow commercial use* so on this finished graphic which I was pleased with, I couldn't actually use either of the photos. I'm now waiting on one more of the image creators to email me back to allow me to use it commercially *the first one did and gave me the heads up so I'm really stoked with him! Go check out his flickr!*

They allowed it to be adapted and shown on the internet still :D

This shirt is a mathematics joke so I don't blame you if you don't get it. There are things in maths called conics which are pretty much cones with a plane bisector through them which then show a graph. I have explained this poorly but it gives a brief idea.

So lets hope for the best with this shirt and hope it gets approved. As for my studies and exams, I'm still doing them and I just had a bit of free time on my hands to do this image and get a blog post out so lets hope for more free time to get more blog posts out!

Well I've just been out playing a certain game all day and for some reason you got rewarded for killing your team mates, and no it was not on any computer game.

I just thought this was cool.

We were playing laser tag. In a nutshell you run around in the dark trying to shoot/blind your friends with a laser beam. Here's a little video I found on Youtube about laser tag.

And so back to my title. I was playing laser tag with my under water hockey team as a sort of farewell function for all the players leaving school. Now me being the apex of laser tag skill was not doing too well in one round so I decided to start shooting my own team mates and wonder how long it would take them to figure out it was me. Now I was using the knowledge that we don't get any disadvantage for shooting our own team so shooting season was open to me who wanted to be annoying.

So shooting away I went. POW!
"Oh snap someone hit me" - Friend
"I think there's a sniper up on that ledge" - Me
*Friend respawns* POW
"Damn, that guy is a fiend with that gun" - Friend
"Yea he's been up there all round" - Me
*Another friend jumps behind our set of barrels*
"Bro try take out that sniper with us" - Friend 1
POW! POOOW! *Two dead friends*
"How does he keep getting us we were hardly above the barrier???" - Friend 1
*More team mates stack up behind this barrier*
"I dunno but imma step back and try shoot him"
POW! PoOoW! PEW? *all dead*
*A general WTF coming from my team mates*

It took them a good while before they found out it was me... And when they did I continued to stalk/hunt/dominate my team mates. It was only when we left the room to check our scores do we see that I had the most points... And most pissed off friends to accompany.

Moral of the story, if you have the choice. Kill your friends.

Weezer's New Album Hurley

Weezer has recently released a new album called "Hurley." If you know lost you've probably heard this name around and yes their album is titled after the lost character Hurley. I love Weezer a lot not just for their music but with which the comical ways they conduct themselves. Some of their previous albums have just been named after themselves with only colours to tell them apart.

So the newly titled album is no surprise after the earlier escapades and laid back style of writing and naming.

The music as always is good, I love Weezer's style of playing as it still upholds the same feel as they had from the day they started playing. I've seen a few youtube videos of them playing with people like Tay Zonday and they even made an appearance with the Gregory brothers in auto tune the news where they used a backing track from their song Memories.

Where Have I Been?

Wow have I been absent from my blog, things just get so busy that I haven't really had the time to be posting and keeping up with whats going on. So as a quick debrief of the last few weeks I'll bullet point the important things that have happened.

Failed My music performance at school, Don't really care because I didn't practise much and I don't need the credits.
Failed 7 papers in my end of year mock exams, the real one's aren't looking too good at the moment
Came second in the nationals school underwater hockey tournament. Kinda alrightish.
Made under 18 Auckland Representative team
Came 5th in that nationals tournament

And that about brings us to now. I'm in school holidays at the moment but have been training my ass off with the Auckland team I made. So now I can grab a bit of spare time amongst the study I have to do so I can give a little update on my blog.

I got a free 10mp camera! Thanks to my great brother Ben, his travel blog which is seldom updated but still fun to read is linked here! Ben and Kerri's Blog So hopefully in the future I'll be able to upload heaps of cool photos of my conquests and stuff like that, maybe even get a vlog going. That'd be quite cool.

So the future is bright, for my blog maybe. For my academics, I should be worried. Keep checking in, I'll be throwing out a whole lot of stuff soon if my time management doesn't go flipsy flopsy again. Picture for fun!

O wow I am so sorry, I have been so busy with underwater hockey tournaments, been sick (for like the millionth time this year) and the kings crown, I started exams. I'm about half way through them now so I don't think a good post will be coming through any time in the very near future. But when I get back it will be a good one. I'm thinking of jamming on Paris Hilton... O the poor excuses crack addicts have for cocaine found in their purses. But as for now I'm going to be a tad absent.

How To Draw?

Something that has been bugging me lately is my lack of the ability to draw, and to be more specific the lack of being able to draw on photoshop. I can draw adequately with a pen (still no freaking artist), but when it comes to photoshop and "painting" I can't get my mouse around drawing the lines and especially shading! It just doesn't seem to work! I know it's one of those practise makes perfect things (I've been drawing in all my classes :))

K I think these are all going to be on there side. I'll say it now. Sorry for the bad quality and just as an FYI. That sign he's holding says "Will work for oil"

This one's fine but I got half my shadow in it. Grrrr night time and house lights.

Happy 101 Award!

It's come to my attention that I have been given my first award here at Sam's Point Of View (povofsam.blogspot.com). I'd like to thank the award giver. The great Andrei Sipos over at Scream Bloody Entertainment. So go over there and give that good man a view, some comments and general happiness. So the title of the "Happy Award 101" Is now mine! So to honour this award I have to post 10 things that make me happy and bring me joy. Here goes!

Numero Uno!
Writing for cash. Being able to see those few cents roll in is actually the most awesome feeling. Even if it is a little bit of money, being paid to do something you enjoy gives you a strong sense of moral awesomeness. I now have earned a boastable amount through my writing so I'm pretty stoked with how things are going.

Numero Deux! (I'm not sure which languages these are from, if any at all)
My guitar and trumpet. I play a lot of music, around the house and quite loudly with the latest addition of the trumpet (to my families horror) but I love playing music, jamming with my mates and any other array of music listening or playing.

Numero Tre!
Water sports. I love playing under water hockey sooooo much. I also play waterpolo but it's the off season and I don't enjoy it as much. I've recently been selected for the Auckland under 18 boys trials. So if all goes well it's only a few steps from there until I'm in the New Zealand team. Cross my fingers for good luck.

Numero Quattro!
Watching a good movie. I love being totally enthralled by a movie. In particular, the ones that leave your mind in a jumbled soup of awe. Fight Club, Reservoir Dogs, Inception, just to name a few of my latest faves (Fight Club from way back though ^_^).

Numero Cinq!
My friends. Always there with me in the worst situations to make it a little bit better by making it a whole lot worse. But I wouldn't have it any other way. One night whilst at my friend Dan's place with George and other various people things got a bit out of hand. Ended out with one guy getting violent, police and ambulance showing up and 3 girls cowering in a corner, I took a drunken hook from a body builder that night! It was really sore the next morning...

Numero Six... Sei!
Noodles! More specifically, easy and instantly made noodles, even more specifically Indomie Mi Goreng Fried Noodles. I'm a big fan of these noodles. The downside is they typically have 17g of fat in each packet, 1/3 of your daily sodium intake (pfft recommended, 2400mg is for panzies :D). But they have it down! From flavour to texture they (IMHO) have got the instant recipe for these noodles sorted.

Numero Sette!
Free stuff! I found an old post I wrote about free stuff in fact! Free Is My Favourite Word Me being a fine connoisseur of being insanely poor, (so poor I tried to make money on the internet. HA) I love it when I get free stuff. Just a few days ago I was driving home when a Mizone van was giving free Mizone to people in cars. Stoked right? It's a brand familiar in NZ, I'm not sure if the outta NZ dudes will know this one, but who knows.

Numero Huit!
Video games, I love just sitting around and relaxing while playing video games. You can get lost in a trance while playing them and it's so much fun just wasting your life away prowling around the many games. I personally am a BIG fan of the Bioshock series. Love Halo on Xbox. All sorts of multiplayer games, TF2, HON (If you've ever heard of it). I love a large array of games, so for video games to get on this list it wasn't very hard :D.

Numero Nove!
Christmas! Even if the gifts are lame, I just love getting into the whole spirit of it. Buying gifts, receiving gifts. The surprise on people's face when they open their gifts, the fake smiles on people's faces when they open a stink gift (hehe). I definitely am a fan of this holiday and it's definitely my fave up there with Halloween because it's a lame excuse to go out for a party.

Numero Dieci! DIX! (French and Italian numbers win!)
Finally on my list of things that brings me joy is chillaxing. Nothing better than to sit around a waste a day away eating bad food, sleeping in, having brinner (breakfast for dinner) you feel a lot better the next day knowing that the day you just had was a total write off in the grand scheme of things. I mostly do this after a big night out because I was up late and so so.

So that's my list of things that bring me joy. I'm now suppose to pass this onto 10 fellow bloggers who make me happy and bring me joy so they can to indulge in this award. Inception: Was It Really That Good?

The simple answer is yes! It was one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. I saw it awhile ago and only recently has the idea of writing something down about it popped into this little teenage head of mine. The movie dragged you right into the head and mind of the main character Cobb (Leonardo Dicaprio). Presenting this so well leaves the watcher challenging his perception on things never before thought about in original life. Take a movie like Fight club, We are taken directly into the mind of Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt) which is then an extrapolation of the mind of the narrator (Edward Norton). It is these kinds of movies in which we are shown "the light" in a different way and it's these movies I can't get enough of!

The special effects astounded me. Ranging from the mass decay of buildings being beaten by waves to the anti-gravity fight scenes that found characters leaping from roof to ground while fighting an array of projections. This complemented the storyline beautifully making every fight worth the while. I respected the fact that they didn't over use special effects to the point it detracted from the storyline, it just gave a kick to the already enthralling plot that was growing over time. For the overall use of special effects I'm going to give it a 4/5 thumbs up.

In a nutshell the movie is a must see! I know some people found the movie a bit hard to follow as it did have a relatively hard to follow plot but if you're a quick thinker and can hack the pace of movies that throw your mind into a blender. Then this movie is for you. I left the theatre in complete awe as to what had just happened. So if you're craving a bit of mind fuck. Inception should be on your list.

Trumpet Graduation

Since I have no actual post and no idea of what to write about so I thought I'd give you guys an update on where am I with my trumpet playing. I'm doing great, getting those high notes and soon (hopefully this Wednesday) I'm going to graduate from the first book that I've been assigned to! So pretty stoked about that, I end my spiel about my trumpet playing. In commemoration. Awesome trumpet performances.

The last few seconds of this has some amazing high notes that make a lot of people playing them pass out. IF they could play them at all

This one is long but I just like it as a piece in general. I'm getting more into jazz these days. Dizzy Gillespie, Charles Parker, Miles Davis. All those guys had there stuff down aye.'

Enjoy those two, I picked them especially. So yes I don't actually have too much to say atm. Trying to fit so many things into life. Writing, trying to learn photoshopping, music, homework and other assortments of various things. Life is packed at the moment! So I'll keep it short.

Ok so I've done this 3 times before and been faced with the same sheet for the past 3 years. Every year I've had the challenging task of picking my school courses for next year and seen a few subjects that we call (drop out subjects) These are subjects the drop outs take because they seem easy. This year Cambridge has brought an all new low to the curriculum by adding a subject never heard of to the kiwi blokes and gals doing NCEA. Look I drew a picture

I kid you not! This was an actual subject and does it not sound like the bummest subject to ever reach drop outs? The only possible outcome or possibility I can see for this course is something like philosophy and what careers can spur from that? 0.o

End Of The World

So it has come to my belief that the end of the world will be imminent for 2012. I only have a short time on the earth before all goes tits up and we are 6 feet deep in our own crap. It has been stated that all is just a rumour and the ancient whoevers got their calender mixed up. So in tribute I go over the "impending dooms" of the past.

First that pops into mind is Y2K. Computers all around the world will malfunction because the date on the computer will not be incomprehensible. I can understand where the problem lay with that but honestly some people locked themselves in little domes made of steel and canned food in the hopes that the computers won't find and kill them as the computers of the world revolt. The major flaw I see is that if computers are so dangerous (I'll be back) couldn't the decipher through the huge amounts of information stored on the computer network where all the lunatics who are stowing themselves away are? I would think so.

Next on the list we have 6/6/06. The evil number of the lord! The dates caught up with us and since the numbers and the dates slightly correlate the world is going to end. Satin is going to rise from the depths and sodomize all in his path! Yes these rumours were getting thrown around at our school which seems like not to long ago either. 5 years runs past quickly when we've got world ending events to cover. I would of thought the great London fire of 1666 would have already occupied date but hey, guess not.

Larger Hadron Atom Collider. Now this one may seem new to readers. It is true that every teen I talked to thought that there was a chance that two atoms colliding could create a black hole large enough to suck the whole earth into it. Other people at my school saw it as a chance to tell the girls they liked the truth. Ha jokes on them when the earth didn't get sucked into a gravitational abyss. One of my friends bet someone $20 the world would end. Think about that one for a while.

And lastly we add to the list. Swine flu. As this flu was fatal from the start only to the elderly and sick who already had death knocking at their door. It kind of didn't catch on very well that it may be come a mutated epidemic. I laughed it off until no one started dying. Then I didn't brace the doors with wood to stop all disease and germ from entering my house. Another article I've written about this to give a slight bit more insight.

Swine Flew

So now we can only hope that 2012 like the rest of the times the world should of ended won't take us out of the universe. It might just so act as if it's the last days of Rome people. You're lucky enough to be warned this early so go get rowdy now if you know what I mean. :D

So yes there is a new audible sensation that I have been exposed to lately. It isn't the wonderful powers of the music that apparently makes you high, no. It's beatbox flute! I've recently written it over at squidoo.com (check my earlier post) and am definitely liking it over there. Integration with amazon and ebay makes everything really easy and they pay you just for having a people popular lens. No income yet but a few of my better lenses are going to earn some coin when the month of no pay go past. Fingers crossed.

Crocodile hunter
- Put on a balaclava and when talking use a husky unrecognisable voice (preferably Australian sounding). Pounce on your partner while unaware and try to perform intercourse while yelling *this shielas a fighter*

E.g: I felt like Steve Irwin one night and I didn't have a crocodile, so I did the crocodile hunter on my wife instead

- Inform your partner that you are acting out a jail scene. Your partner if he/she is open minded will play along. Hello all and here I am today to tell you about something I'm just finding a new to me. It's the site squidoo. Yes another writing site for me to splurge on and again about anything I want to. It's got a unique system of putting lenses (pages you create) into tiers and then are payed accordingly compared to the overall lens rank that your lens has achieved. So I've been pondering at that site lately, making a few lenses and waiting till the next month to see if any of my better lenses rake in any cash. I'm staying hopeful but not expecting anything big. Wish me luck!

If you haven't seen how I met your mother and don't know what a slap bet is you are deluded and need to go watch every single episode out.

So since our group of friends is all really poor, following the common suit of teenagers. We've decided to start betting the normal colour of our faces by starting slap bets. So when something needs to be bet on, we offer a slap that can be administered any time, place and side of hand.

Rules!

This must be governed by a slap commissioner, stating when the slap can be administered.
- E.G My friend had bad razor rash so the slap commissioner called slapping to a halt for a day.

The bet may be placed on anything.
- Most recently I won a bet about whether the crazy guy off American Idol was singing pants on the ground or pants on the floor. Of course it's pants on the ground so I won that without doubt.

This is an HQ remix but the point is the same.

So anyways I won the slap bet and still haven't slapped the guy, I'm mellowing it out and letting him live in fear for awhile.

So go forth and start your slap bets, of course you lose some but some you win... And that's when the game's fun.

Well of course there are the traditional methods with guns and knives and other household appliances and gadgets that may seem quite brutal but how about the other ways? The ways only a teenage boy would think of?

Sports Report

Now there is an old fart at our school who reads the sports report at every Monday school assembly, as we have been administered this verbal beating so many times the boredom does not effect us fatally, it can only be considered torture. At times when we think he's finished but continues the whole school actually groans. This is a new form of boredom. It's the sports Report.

Hello Hello Hello to all. Well it seems a worldwide mystery that a squid predicted the last 8 games of the soccer world cup correctly. Now I'm not one to believe in psychics due to various pictures around the Internet of silly looking psychics and that mathematicians can predict closer than some 'other worldly connectors'. So now we've got a squid predicting soccer games? What am I suppose to believe?

It really is amazing that this little fellow picked the winner to every game. Some say it's like he was a lucky and just picked the right 50-50 every time. but that's a 1/256 chance, I think. This is the second instalment of letters I have found myself writing to you. In the last letter, I talked about how you should go from being derailed to the straight and narrow but now obviously you haven't. I'd just like to point out you could have easily avoided going to jail but instead you avoided alcohol ed probation meetings to probably go get drunk. It is a sad state for the world when you may get payed more than in your whole acting career to be interviewed after you've been in jail. You should be fortunate for that priviledge, in NZ you'll get a slap on the wrist and a kick on the butt as you leave prison. Not a million dollars. Be smarter about life Lindsay. Don't drop the soap in prison, only god knows what goes down in the female prisons. See ya in 90 days.

How To Cure A Cold

Well I've been struck with a cold/flu/bodily disfunctionment that has left me bed ridden, coughing and spluttering, so in respect of this disease disabling the mighty Sam I'm going to show you how to cure a cold! Or at least how my mum and her wacky wife remedies would.

1. Don't be bold and go Rambo on the weather.
The strong and fierce Sam usually walks around on a winter day in underwear because he's tough and refuses to believe that if he gets cold he will get a cold. Getting a virus or a bacterial infection have no correlation to your temperature. HOWEVER, when you are sick staying warm is key. Rambo never cured anything or anyone before so going Rambo now ain't going to cure you.

2. Get yoself sum dat purple drank!
No not really the purple drank, but fluids. I went to the doctor today and she said lots of fluids along with keeping warm is what you should do. So this one can be backed up by someone knowledged in medicine, not a wife's tale 'this might work if we tell him it will' myth. I like soda water and this blackberry cordial stuff.

3. For the coughs use a spoonful of sugar.
Slow down there Mary Poppins, we aren't swallowing medicine we're coughing up pieces of our lungs. By spoonful of sugar though I mean honey. I'm not sure if it actually cured my coughing but you may as well try it. I mean lets placebo this up aye. The honey I took helped my cough a lot and provided me with cough relief. The top medical scientists call it honey cure... It's not bacon I swear.

4. Catch some Z's
This one I know works. Just have a mean sleep, put on a DVD and just sleep through it. You feel better after a nice long sleep. Last Friday I slept through the whole night got up had breakfast then slept till 6 that night. I felt a little better but because I was so badly sick I still felt pretty bad.

5. Take a long hot shower or bath
You feel good until you turn off the water and it starts to get cold, BUT until then it's really nice having a shower when your sick. I had a fever so everything was cold especially my feet and hands. So a nice hot shower made it feel all better. Apparently says my ex nurse mum 'it's bad to have your showers too hot with a fever'. Makes sense considering your already too hot. But heck showers feel too good.

It seems like only not too long ago I was sick with a common cold, well now I've got a full out flu of some sorts and I'm spluttering up what feels like my lungs. All my skin from waist up is sensitive like it's been sun burnt and I can't eat because I feel like I'm gunna spew. Ugh this flu is horrible...

Ester-C, OK so I've been chewing away at a few of these because apparently they're good for colds and flu's and people with scurvy. But what I really want to draw your attention to is the name of it. Ester-C... Does that not sound like Ecstasy? There must be a raise in drug addicts with colds these days.

Yes I know it's been awhile but I'd like to say it's time consuming doing so much school work and looking for jobs and things like that. I have found some work but only temporary which kinda sucks but gives me some more time to jump on my blog and give everyone a run down of whats been going on.

So I bet you're wondering "hey Sam why is your post titled the guy with no virginity?" Well fellow reader it's because of a biology incident that happened only a few days ago. So let's find out about the guy with no virginity.

So in Biology we're learning about evolution and the parts of the brain that control different emotions, and we're being told the story of the guy who blew the front of his head of with a bolt. Turns out it changed his personality because the frontal lobe or something yadeyayaya. So he started gambling, womanizing and spending all his money, the teacher asked the class "what is this guy missing if he has no frontal lobe or one with a bolt in his head?" To which a student in my class said.

His virginity...

This raised a question to me about this guy and the whole losing of his virginity.

Would you sleep with guy with a bolt in his head or missing a forehead in this case? Yaaar I sleep with ye fore head *amazing I come up with all of these myself :).*

Busy Like A Bee

Hey everyone!

I've been so busy lately! It's been hard to get a decent post out. Busy doing school work and trying to find a job. I've recently had to do a group performance for school so that I can be assessed on my musical talent, this is then followed up by a composition due in two days. It's all time consuming and you just forget about things like a blog. But hey I'm here spending a few minutes to update the world.

A main reason I've been gone for the last few days is I'm trying to find a job. One off the internet and one on it as well. I've been applying for small jobs online to see if I can get some easy writing work. There's jobs everywhere it's just finding the right one that causes the problem. Anyways the bottom line is, I've been really really busy with life.

I've also been put on a hard training schedule for my underwater hockey team, runs, press ups, crunches, countless laps of swimming it's running me down. Worst of all I've been forbidden from alcohol until the tournament but hey who wants to win gold right? I guess it will help with my under 18 trials as well, ugh I wish I could just drop it all and become a fatty.

Women and their rights. Ha! They don't have rights, god put them on earth to be our sandwich makers. Aaaaa being completely honest now though, we studied women rights and the imprisonment of them in their domestic spheres as a side effect from abuse and fear. All in good fun though. Well we can only hope for the best for the future of our genders.

Oh and just something funny I thought I'd add. I told my little brother the last of those 5 jokes above... I mean abominations, his answer to it was. One and the other one to go and make me a sandwich. Hmmm guess society is corrupt.

The Toilet Spurs Memory

Well now I was standing at the toilet, slashing away *urinating* when I thought "man I should go get that song that I'm humming and singing to myself right now". So quite happy with myself and my decision to get this song I finished up and walked back to my computer. I sit down and start singing along to the Oasis that was playing. And oh no there it goes I can't remember which song I wanted to get. Arduously and tediously I start thinking, I think at one point I could smell the hair on my head burning from the over heating my brain was doing. I paced, I pondered, I got some oreos and procrastinated some more. This thinking was killing me I really wanted to listen to that song and I couldn't because I couldn't remember a single fragment of the song. At one point I even googled "how to remember things". Didn't really help out in the long run. I had a genius idea! And a genius idea it really was. I walked into the toilet. dropped my jocks and pretended to take a slash.

And there it was! The song I wanted to get, the one I'd drilled my memory for a good half an hour for. Right there sitting with me in the toilet. I didn't want to leave the bathroom in fear I'd lose it again. I got it though and might I tell you it was one of the most satisfying feelings finally remembering this song.

We all know some things in life are just too awkward and nonsensical that we laugh at them, these same things also turn out to be "politically correct" and shouldn't be laughed at. But hey I don't care if I get frowned at, these are just a few things too funny to not laugh at.

1. Someone falling over

I'd like to tell you the story of Heidi Chen. She's a girl in my form class and she was also in my English class last year. She fell out of a doorway and landed on her feet. Yes it doesn't sound funny now but she then proceeded to crumble to the ground as if gravity was too much for her. After being degraded to her knees she then stood up and hit her head on the door. Instead of asking her if she was alright I laughed hysterically. If you'd seen it you would have done the same thing. Either way me and Heidi are still mates :).

2. The German accent

O come on! Try to not laugh when you hear them say something. Especially if they say something in English. It's all like " Hehlo HGi! *I in German* am Clemens! But hey these people were born with these accents soooo we aren't allowed to laugh at them. If it makes it any better the British accent is pretty funny too.

Sounds like a bunch of damn pied nancy boys to me.

Actually what am I saying this is probably the apex of people we're suppose to laugh at. When you film yourself trying to ollie 5 steps or jump a gap. Expect the change in gravity caused by the act of filming yourself. You will fall and fail and not look cool in front of the possible 1000's of people that may see it if indeed it does get leaked onto the Internet.

Just remember, next time you see a slightly larger person try get out of the pool or a cat slam into a cat door purposely closed, instead of offering help or standing back and cringing. Have a laugh.

With all this modern day technology you whipper schnappers have been using piracy has become quite a horrid problem. My theory is, if your going to do it. do it LIKE A BOSS! It's a loss to see probably millions of dollars go down the drain or rather into pirates itunes libraries yaaaarrrr. Let me into ye booty? By the way that there is what I like to call sex addict the pirate.

But onto the serious point of pirating. Would you guys kill for the download speed of that chick in the pirating ads played before all the dvds you pirated?

Soooo if a movie is like 700mb to a gb thats like 70mb - 100mb a sec right? Where the hell is she getting her internets from? And to be honest I wouldn't steal a car I would feel way too guilty, however I would download one if I could :). Yaaarrr can I down a load on ye booty... O ew gross...

To be honest all the money these days must be in live shows. I've seen local NZ bands who are just getting their feet on the ground being pirated by people. In my opinion that is where pirating is bad. New bands need every cent, Eminem though he could probably do without the drug money. Ha please don't kill me I'm just joking :(

Hey people I've been gone for a few days for a few reasons. I can't think of a post topic, been busy and I just got Bioshock 2! Now this solved one problem but made the busy problem a lot worse. So anyways it got me wondering about the concept of splicing genes, human parts and penultimately creating super beings.

So first of all lets look at the background of the Bioshock games. You're dropped down into Rapture as a human in the 1st and as a big daddy in the second. Bladee bla blaa... You face lots of splicers *pretty much once were humans now they're cut up (spliced) abominations. Rapture is an underground city in which they conducted many politically incorrect tests. Which caused a lot of screwed up people and plasmids *shoot fire from your hands yadee ya ya ya...*

Now this got me pondering how far modern science has come and the extent that one day people may be doing things like the scientists from Rapture have done. Not creating plasmids so you can shoot lightning from your hands but using enzymes and technology and all that jazz to rewrite the genomes of people to further improve or destroy them. I do biology at school and know for a fact that you can cut up certain genes from one organism and after a few steps and stuff you can have it functioning in another. It's crazy to think that in the future people won't be butchering genes from people and creating ideal DNA to plant in others.

Look at the recent biological advance with the creation of a synthetic cell. They can create DNA and no longer need another living organism to help them do it. Of course it will get to the stage where human rights come in and people start saying that you shouldn't be messing with the hand of god, but there will also come the time that people decide to defy the act of nature and create their own (splicer) to set upon the world. It may be for good, it may end up horribly wrong. I did hear from a very unreliable source *my friend...* that they've isolated the aging gene. If that's true people will stop dieing of old age.

No death? Happy old man!

Some may debate these sort of acts are modern evolution, without the selection pressures and works of natural selection at hand to change us as a human race. As I can see it Bioshock may have just proved a point that we shouldn't mess with what we're made of. My opinion is that you can't find out what the consequence will be if you don't take the risk. So I'm more pro DNA and gene butchering.

Everyone Looks "Cool" On A Segway

This is kind of another modern technology rant like my Ipad article. I can fully see this turning into a series of posts. heh Ipads are silly...

So onto segways. I don't know what good ole Dean from Hampshire was trying to create when he bought this sort of person into the world.

Don't worry it's not like she payed $5300 - $7000 for this hip and fashionable look, honestly though she can't even use her new age tool *that's right I called it a tool. Not gadget or technological device, rather a tool for the "funky fresh" stage of paedestrianism? *zat a word?** in Australia due to road and safety laws banning the use of them on roads and walkways. They must be too much for our kangaroo buddies down under.

Police are even using these things. They go suprisingly fast as well like 20km/h *bummer for the Americans no imperial for you*. I can see the point of these more so than an Ipad though.

Now I can vouch for bum lame sports (*cough* underwater hockey) but something that costs about $5000 to play is just silly...

Aaaaah so there's your imperial, 12m/h. And at least they agree with me by saying it's a nerd sport. What I think is pretty cool about the segway is that you can actually own a Ferrari brand segway! Well atleast that's what wikipedia says.

Well people how is your night going??? Well I am going super as I've just been out on a saturday night chattin' with the shielas *some colloquial language for you aussies* and drinking with the mates. I'd just like to say that man a flask full of bourbon doesn't go very far these days. What am I saying? This post is even boring me! I can't see the whole great idea of the new technological advancement that is the Ipad. See now heres how I see it.

It's a viewing device for old senile citizens who can't read from books any longer because text can't be enlarged. The Ipad is a sorry excuse to earn money as a sort of extension to the "Ipod Touch" and "Iphone" series. I can see the point in small handheld devices with cool little games on them. I can't however see the point for this. And neither can the author.

So as I can see it all the people buying Ipads are sad saps just paying out the ass for something that to me seems useless. Now I offer a challenge. This one ain't too hard.

What the hell is the point for Ipads!

Now I can't afford an Ipad.Well I can't afford to spend hundreds of dollars on a seemingly pointless piece of hardware. Is there even any cool games? Like as far as I've seen it's good for scrabble and browsing the daily paper both which you can get for about $20 at max.

Now we have seen some pretty bad things happen at my school. Just yesterday a kid stole a car, crashed it and caused a three car pile up then ran through the school with a screw driver while a helicopter and platoon of police officers hunted this kid and his passenger down through the school. Do you know what the funny thing about all this is though? Well when a totally innocent, law abiding citizen tried to help, the perfectly trained police dog of the NZ police mauled the humble Samaritan.

No but this is not the main idea of my post. No. *btw we've been on lock down twice this year and it's not even half way through the year. Anyone would think we're in the bad parts of Compton." This post is about the head of P.E at our school when presenting our half ass waterpolo team with certificates.

The story begins... In a land far far away...

We were sitting through a gruelling honours assembly to honour the great athletic achievements so far in the year. We had to listen to a lady speak and tell us about her life *she honestly told us about everything she did, at one point the crowd groaned because it went so long, her speech even went into lunch time.* Then it came to the actual certificate giving. Now get this straight the first time our totally onto it head of P.E went to say a girl called Nicole's last name he some how magically called her Nicole Kidman <-- *that one sounds like a joke* . 0.o. And let me tell you he's onto it. Then proceeding to read the waterpolo boys name we were presented with our certificates.

Our completely onto it head of P.E managed to pull some random certificate off his shelf and write our names on it. The only right piece of information on the certificates was our names.

He then went onto miss a girl's name out completely, showing how much actual concentration the old fart had.

It doesn't stop there. When giving me my badge instead of a waterpolo badge he gave me a soccer badge. :P I went back to him later and got my actual badge and now have both soccer and waterpolo, so that one was kind of a win. But honestly this guy definitely deserves the king of sporting fails this year!

Hey peeps!

So I've been gone for a few days due to study and being sick so I haven't really had the time to throw out a blog post but here I am back again to say. IT'S ALL NEARLY OVER!!!

And I can't be happier. My exams are coming to an end and my flu is nearly gone as well so I'm doing a silent hooray for the time being. So I'm just doing a short check up post as I'm still very busy and still feeling very sick, still a lot better than what I was before. As I said I was Sicker Than A Pedo!.

So what am I going to put in this post? Not even I know yet... It's been a pretty jam packed last few days and being a teenager it's very easy to get sidetracked. O snap I just saw that thing about that little kid who was 13 or something that knocked up at 15 year old who had already had 7 sexual partners. Whaaaaaat? People these days. How would that little kid actually know where his tiddlywink goes and no wonder he put a bun in her oven, no sheath will be fitting over that kids goliath 0.o.

Hello people *cough*. Today I'm feeling a bit under the weather and the cold bug chose the wrong time to bite. Today was also my first exam which I think I did quite well in considering how congested my head was. As my title states I'm sicker than a pedo, I don't really think I am because those people are really gross. Just remember they do have a special spot in hell saved for them. ( This is unless they go to a pedo limbo then go to a pedo heaven of some sort. This could well be fully likely if we believe in the afterlife/s. )

Instead of blabbering about how sore I am and my sick relative to pedo ratio. I thought I'd tell you what I do when I'm feeling sick.

When I first saw this I thought he was smiling and his chin was holding the thermometer

- First of all I "Recharge My Energy Gauge". It's the best thing to do if your feeling under the weather

- I also like to eat a nice hot bowl of pumpkin soupor seafood chowder (wow everything is on amazon, P.S NZ chowder looks way better than that stuff).

- Watch DVD's in the dark, I don't have the most monster movie collection out so I always end up having to watch something like "Finding Nemo" or this NZ show made in 2004, one of the most hilarious shows I've watched in my life "7 periods with Mr. Gormsby".

- I like to look at pictures of third world countries to realise I still have it better than them . What? No I'm kidding about that one, It's something Red does from "that 70's show".

- Sneeze, splutter, cough, gag, snivel. Any plethora of sick verbs, I do them when I'm sick except i don't do them like any casual person I do them LIKE A BOSS!!!

Ya know Jehovah's Witnesses? Well I just had a close encounter with something worse. I'm on my study leave for my mid year exams so I was in the midst of doing the routine get up late and shower slowly, have a bad breakfast and procrastinate the study fact for a good long time.

Now whilst having my shower I hear a knock at the door. I put on a towel and sneak a peek out the window. It's a lady of about 50 years of age standing outside the front door. I run to get clothes on (still dripping wet) and find denim pants and a shirt (no time for underwear). I hear the doorbell ring again as I'm putting these rough pants on and pulling this shirt on over my wet hair and soaking body. I answer the door to a lady who was like.

"Hi, we're wondering if Mrs Law or Mr Law was in?" In the most lethargic tone I've ever heard.
"Um no they're at work right now."
"Ok well are you their son?"
"Yea?" (I think I actually said it like a question, if only you had seen this lady.)
And then she said "O ok" Turns around and says.
"Lilian. We've got one."

First of all I'm not sure if she said Vivian or Lilian or even a crazy word that made no sense because at this point she wasn't making much sense anyways. Secondly. "We've got one"??? What the hell? like honestly. What the hell! It gets worse.

From out of the blindspot of my doorway an even older lady comes out and is like.
"O hello there are you a catholic?" *whaaaaaat?*
"I aaaa haven't been to mass in awhile..." *yea 13 years...*
"O ok we are trying to get back in contact with all the catholics in the area." says slightly younger lady. Looking not crazy in comparison what so ever.
"O ok, have a nice d..."
"So you're the son are you, how many siblings are there? Any younger ones who have never seen gods glory." interrupts older lady.
"One little brother and two older ones." *youngest ones 14 I think he's outta the priests hands. If you know what I mean :)... Sorry to the devout catholics

anyways this conversation continues on for another about 10 minutes with awkward questions abouts my family, siblings and my religious devotion (kinda been absent since I was 3). Anyways I bid these catholics goodbye after taking their pamphlet. THEN...

As I'm boiling my water to make me some of my favourite noodles. I hear the reversing of their van (and the jump of my joy) until I hear a car door open. I'm like *o crap did they forget something?* I look out the window and they've backed thier van into my fence. Too scared of sparking another conversation with them I just look out of my window as they try to re-adjust their van to hit my fence again. FACEPALM. Third time lucky they leave and I finally get to eat me noodles a little less stress free.

All I can say is I'm glad I didn't answer the door in a towel like I normally do. Thank you god... Maybe I should attend mass again... Maybe?

Natural Disaster In New Zealand

So it's 6am Saturday morning. I'd just been out late on a Friday night and was in a deep sleep. Off in dreamland making the impossible true. Let me tell you this was a great sleep, sleeping beauty's sleep was dwarfed compared to this one. The pillow, so soft. The bed, comforting. The duvet, so warm. And that's when it happened...

A sound so unruly, creeped up from the distance, out of nowhere like a thunderous, earthquake, tsunami or some other natural disaster that may confuse a sleep deprived teen. I jump out of bed with my sleep goggles still on *blurry vision obtained after a deep sleep*. Swaying through the corridors of my house thinking that at any time I could be swept, quaked or some other thinged away at any inevitable time. At this point in time of my frantic frenzy it would have been any man for himself, I would have thrown anybody out of my way to get up the stairs *in case of tsunami that is, if it's a quake or something else we pretty much just have to bend over and kiss our own asses good bye*.

A lot of people jump into water in NZ, we're surrounded by beaches. At any time this could happen, then it's every man for him self.

So there I was life flashing before my eyes to the unidentified sound and rumble. I could only think of one thing to do for my last moment and that was to gaze out the window and wait for my demise. Now looking back I can definitely say I would do something different if my last moment was about to be seconds upon arrival. But for now all I could do was look out the window at my early appointment with the after life. And there it was...

Quick fact: When I found this picture it was called Sam's scared face. Funny that...

It was a f*****g garbage truck. Slowly cruising down my street. Who in there right minds drives a loud ass truck down a street at 6am waking up even the deepest sleepers like I. The only thing I can pull from this experience is that I'm paranoid of natural disasters. I hadn't seen or heard of any danger and I'm running round my house half blind, swaying into walls ready to push any Tom, Dick or Harry out of the way to save my own life. I'm a horrible person what can I say :)

Well today's the last day before I go on study leave for my mid years. Wish me luck people, I have a few whole days off for study so I may be able to get a post out if I'm not swamped from looking at paper with info I'll probably never use in life.

So what do I do to recharge my fuel tanks? To get me on a buzz?

No I don't actually but I do have some actual ideas and things that I do to get my on a hype and ready to take a bull by the horns... Or fuck a giant fish... LIKE A BOSS!!!

- I make a milo and milk combo! Ok so what's the delicious milo and milk combo? Well first you get two teaspoons of milo in the bottom of a cup (more depending on the size of cup and chocolatey goodness you want to mellow in your mouth) and a teaspoon of sugar *ACHTUNG* This ratio is directly proportional and must be executed with the utmost precision or the whole shock of energy will be ruined by either a too dilute mil solution or strong burst of sweetness and/or chocoverdose. With our dry ingredients added we want to add a small amount of boiling water to melt ingredients but not so much to make the soon to be added milk, warm (can easily ruin a good M&M combo if done wrong). Now comes the tricky part. We add the milk! Now like a pedophile strolling past a school, LIKE A PEDO! We can't be too hasty with our actions. Slowly! add milk while stirring to make sure the melted ingredients don't linger at the bottom until your mixture is at optimal colour of brown to your liking. Some may like their M&M stronger than others. Now I've made my M&M combo I can indulge in the taste symphony as a cacophony of ingenious creation emblazons my taste buds. ENERGY RECHARGED

- Listen to the most almighty song in the world! I know you all have one and mine happens to be "Forever Young by Youth Group". Don't act like you don't love this song. Every time I hear it, it reminds me of Napoleon Dynamite and him awkwardly dancing with that equally awkward chick... "I like your sleeves" Doesn't that quote just shout jump in bed with me right now? The italics just ~~excentuate~~ ~~extentuate~~ exasporate? the style of it all. No but honestly this song makes me feel like a ninja who knows illegal moves from the government :P Props to Napoleon. ENERGY RECHARGED

- Take a nap! LIKE A FUCKING BOSS!!! Ever had a really, really, really! Sweet nap? You take like a 40 minute power nap and damn do u feel RECHARGED. I dunno I heard somewhere that 40 minutes is like the magic number for REM cycles or some sort of sleep magic... Algorithm or something. But honestly if have 40 mins to spare drop a 40min alarm and nap it out. In fact there is a memorable super nap I had in calculus (no wonder) that was so good I dribbled on my book so much that upon waking my arms ripped a saliva soaked page. People took pictures, I was lucky enough for them not to land on Facebook. ENERGY RECHARGED!!!

So those are the ways I get me some quick energy into my body, recharge the battery and damn do I do it LIKE A BOSS. About all the studying I'm suppose to be doing, I've found that I know more about calculus than I actually thought so I've found time to throw in a blog post and the quick one yesterday I think it was. I'm gunna be hard at it tomorrow and I got a waterpolo game and UWH training so I don't think I'll get one in :)

People I got me some exams coming up in the next two weeks so I probs won't be posting anything for awhile. If I do I would have managed to squeeze some time into my hectic schedule. On the positive side for my free time, my jazz combo was put on hold because we all didn't have enough time and didn't have enough motivation with things we've been doing and stuff like that but nobody wants to hear about Jack being a dull boy.

Now I don't want to leave this post just at that so I decided to list the things people use Facebook for. Hey why not right?

1. Uploading pictures of themselves (Who are we?!?!) momentous occasions and kick ass parties that they attend.

2. Finding a person called 'Shaniqua' to see if any actually exist in NZ or even the world (just an FYI, I checked and there is none... Not even in the world... Daniel.

3. Fraternize with old friends from yonders past. Or stalk exes... take your pick.

4. Post annoying status updates in third person. "Sam Law: Is feeling hungry... Sam Law: Is tired and is going to bed... Sam Law: is annoying and wonders why nobody likes these ~~status's~~, ~~statuses~~, statisi? Is that a word?

5. Use facebook to stalk someone even as a stranger because for some reason it lets you look back into each one of their photos. In Soviet Russia, Facebook Pedo Bear's you!

6. Play farming games and become completely obsessed with little pixels in which grow pixel vegies or kill pixel people with pixel weapons. Can you call Farmville a drug? It's obsessive and people pay, fight and waste time on it?

Just an FYI (shopped by yours truly)

7. Start events which stalker pedo people attend to like "Touch a boob day", "Touch a boob week" and we can't forget "Get 5 million people to join to vote Justin Bieber out of gender". It's an actual group and I'll admit I have joined this group.

8. Start a fake account add fake friends and fakely change your relationship status to invoke the attention of others. Though I've never seen it done... I think I'd have to applaud that sad lonely person for such an effort.

9. You can see pictures of something really hilarious when you click oh no... whats this? Quick survey... alright. Vote... Go back... refresh and now they want our details... bail out and I didn't get to see the picture :P

10. Use your mobile phone and wifi enabled devices to feed the obsession that is Facebook. honestly I have no beef with Facebook and I love it myself but damn! They have no dislike button! It would only make the cornucopia of FML's that tad bit funnier.

So there we have it. A few uses for the wonderful online social networking site. Now that I kind of think about it we don't really control Facebook. It kind of controls us.

e.g instead of looking on google or a more logical place to find somebody called Shaniqua (I'll tell you how we got to this in a later post and link back here (visca versca)<---Correct me if I'm wrong with that. :P It doesn't seem to fit.)), we chose Facebook.

In the end we can all conclude that Facebook is just one massive tool for stalking. XD

Sunday: Moshing Guide For Dummies

So you’ve been at a concert and want to be like one of the tough guys, front and center to worship your favourite band. But you can’t physically make it to the front or upon entering this pit of worship you are knocked away. Well people nows your chance to participate!

So you’ve just rocked up to a concert and your ready to take on the crowd just to get a close up glimpse of your favourite band. The warm up band gets off and the band you’ve been waiting for comes out on stage. the crowd packs forward and your are pushed to the side and knocked around because you are to much of a noob to get to the mosh pit and actually get into the concert.

So here we have it ladies. The guide to get you up to the front and knocking over those little midgets that call themselves moshers!

Firstly!
You don’t have to be at a heavy deathmetal gig to have a moshpit. I was at a killers concert and there was a moshpit. It all depends on the crowd and if they appreciate this band enough to kick the s**t out of the people around them to show how much they actually want to be noticed.

Secondly!
Get a buddy! You don’t want to be flying solo in a moshpit that stuff is for professionals only, not for the amateur dummies. Nothing’s worse than being screamed at while pushing to the front or trodden on while in a pit without a buddy being there to have your back.

Thirdly!
A concert is like a battlefield. The closer you get to the front the more intense you have to be. So get ready to be courageous and take on your opposition with those steel balls we all know you have hidden away somewhere.

Fourthly?
Nothing’s personal in a pit. Unless some scummy, trash-head directly insults you. Then it’s personal. Feel free to use the later techniques on him to your full extent.

Getting To The Front!

Now we have to get in early, get our weapons ready (any sort of flesh that is attached to your body) and try get as near to the front as we can while that opening act is still warming up the crowd. Subtle pushing and shoulder nudging past people will get you through.
If you are not near the front when the opening act has just finished you can walk forward while people are jumping up and down. They can’t stop you if they’re not on the ground. :)

MOSHPIT TECHNIQUES

The windmill – Throw your arms around in any direction. Any face you clip is another point! Aim of this move… get as many points as you can. *WARNING* May cause rage in the pit and get you beaten by skin heads. Use in caution.

The elbow smack – A more defensive move for the mosh pits. This move is more suited for the shorter people. Head down, elbows behind head, flail body. This is a good one if your on the recovery from a trampling or a vicious push from another mosher. Careful though vision will be impaired while head is down.

The classic push – Push any body near, around, or obscurely not near you. For the taller gentlemen or butch ladies (lets be honest females have to be butch to be in this scenario). You gotta be big to pull this off considering it’s hard to push someone 3 inches taller than you.

The crazy guy on E – A mixture of all of the above, usually seen done by a crazy guy on E.

So You’ve just completed boot camp?

This is only the basics. The more concerts, gigs or shindigs you go to will improve your crowd control, mosh offense and eye for the guys on drugs. You’ll become awesome in no time and maybe someday you’ll be able to fly solo in a Slayer moshpit.

Friday: Camp Awesome! 2010

Back from camp! YAY. So camp was great had a lot of fun and got to know a few people I didn't know to well. So lets give a brief run down of what went down.

          Sunday

- Busride down was probably one of the funniest times of my life just joking around with mates.
- Went on a stream walk the same day. My toes went blue.

          Monday

- Went on a 20km walk across the Tongariro Crossing. I have never been happier to sit my ass down on stoney gravel for a few minutes. Good views but sore feet

          Tuesday

- Went kayaking through thermal springs and stuff. Got caught in blackberry bushes... F**kn sore!
- Went rock climbing and damn my podgy fingers couldn't grasp onto those tiny little holdy thingys :P
- Spa pools!!! So warm and awesome!

          Wednesday

- At this point we went for a 6k tramp into the wilderness to camp for the night. Toasted marshmellows and drank powdered milk milos. So much fun sitting around tiny flames in warm clothes.

          Thursday

- Walk the other 6k's back
- Spa pools!!! Again!!! Yay!!!

          Friday

- Bus ride home... Laterz Taurewa until next year

Saturday, I'm Back and Slightly Black

Ok so I've been away for a bit cause my blog was bugging up and I didn't like it and wasn't happy but now I'm back. Blog looks good again and i'm motivated to get blog posting again.

So where have I been the past month??? Well mostly over in Australia seeing my big bro Tom. Thanks for planning everything and letting me stay at your house. It was fully choice. Ok so my brother just recently moved over there to try something new, bought a house packed with asbestos *cough cough feeling the cancer already* and found themselves jobs. Now I was sadly dissapointed with the babes over in Aus or should I say... *The not so babes*. It was when I got to the beach and saw maybe one macn girl* ( see bottom ) that I lost all hope in australia. Beachers of Australia you let me down...

So now I'm back in New Zealand and have just passed the first week of school, Kindle Wireless Reading Device (6" Display, Global Wireless, Latest Generation) and guess what tommorow I'm going away to school camp!!! yay. So I'll be gone for another week hopefully I'll be able to get another post up when I get back linking to all the pictures of cool shit we do!

Heeeeey now i've been gone for like a week now so this is my first post in a while. Man have I been busy, waterpolo tourney, homework, music stuff. It's all happening in the last 2 weeks before school goes on break.

So first item on the agenda. It turns out it was in fact the ram on my computer that was screwing it up so yay me new ram free on warranty :) I have my functioning computer back up and running so hoorah!

Second item: we came second in the waterpolo by one goal. Grrrrr

Third: My blog is finally on google!!! type in sam's point of view and there I am! WAM on googles front page. Don't bring me down by saying that there aren't other sam's who need a point of view. Let me be happy for a lil while.

Thursday, Spur Of The Moment Things Are Great

Suuuuup all. Man today is a sweet day in NZ sun's hot yet the wind is cold makes a real wierd mix of temperature but feels awesome after you've been swimming. So people today is the first day of a waterpolo tournament I'm in and I just had my first game... Now I'm at home wagging because lets be honest. School is boring :P why would I want to do calculus when i can sit at home and do nothing. but yes we did win our game 4-10 so that's just dandy :P.

What the choker in this choking pic failed to notice is that the chokee has a badass tat. As soon as this guy gets cap string out of his mouth he will proceed to beat the living daylight out of this man until his daylight is no longer living.

Soooooo my title says that things done on the spur of the moment are great. Pretty much I'm learning trumpet now 0.o. Yup went to school and now I'm learning trumpet. On the list of things I've done on the spur of the moment this actually isn't that high up there but what made me want to learn trumpet? What made me want to rub deep heat on my balls? :P *Explanation here*.

Now in my music class I was instructed to listen to Ronan Keating's - Life is a Rollercoster.
